If such people register with organ donation or their families are ready for it, then eight people can get a new life from the organ donation of one person. But due to lack of organs, more than 5 lakh people die. The Transplantation of Human Organ Act has been in force since 1994. Under this, the surgery of organ donation became easy and people have started getting new life.

How much is needed and how much is available - Every year one lakh corneas are needed, but only 25 thousand are available - every year one to 1.5 lakh kidneys are needed, but only 3500 to 4000 are available - every year 15 to 20 thousand Liver is needed, but 500 transplants can be done - Every year about ten thousand heart transplants are needed, but only 10 to 15 are possible

organ transplantation in a living person through organ surgery. This is called a transplant. This is done when the life of a sick patient is in danger due to the failure of a particular organ of the body. Then through surgery, it is possible to transplant the heart, liver, kidney, lungs, pancreas, intestine, heart valve, cornea, bones, skin, etc.

Organ donation means donation. In medical terms, people take an oath while alive that in case of brain death, their body's organs should be donated. These organs of his give new life to the sick man.

There are two types of organ donation Life donation: Usually, only your blood relative brother, sister, parents, and children organs, which is called live donation. But, the organ donated after brain death is called cadaver donation. Liver and kidney donation is possible, as a person can donate one kidney and part of the liver, as the liver grows back over time to what the body needs. Apart from this, donation of half of the pancreas is possible.

Cadaver donation: Cadaver donation occurs when the patient is brain dead. A cadaver donor is called when an organ is transplanted into the body of another human after the patient's brain death. A human's entire organ is useful for 8 people.

Brain death is examined in the presence of a neurosurgeon treating the brain-dead patient, a neurologist, an administrative officer, and a general physician. This team examines the patient twice at an interval of six hours and then it is declared brain dead.
